George III Pair Of Silver Salt Cellars by William Cripps, London, 1770. Antiquarian BooksA matching pair of George III silver salt cellars by William Cripps, London, 1770. One salt cellar is fully hallmarked with the maker's mark, London stamp and date stamp. The other cellar's marks have rubbed with the only remaining visible mark being the lion passant. Both cellars come complete with later blue liners and silver plated spoons. The cellars show some tarnish and light wear commensurate with age but remain in a remarkably good condition

each daguerreotype is a unique image on a silvered copper plate

who was famously painted in mourning dress on several occasions

here is slight scuffing to the trailing in areas and the glass has some small pits visible in places

The maker's mark is rubbed

Rowland Ward developed a treatment for rhino skins which turned them into semi-opaque material that could be polished

Both bon bon dishes are in an excellent condition with clear hallmarks

Overall the candle box remains very attractive with the wood boasting a wonderful patina throughout

There is some fading to the spine leather and some shelf wear to the lower extremities but the volume generally remains in a very good condition externally
