These are characters from an old Punch & Judy Show designed for children. Both puppets have nicely painted carved wooden heads with expressive decal eyes. They have fabric bodies with some lovely small wooden hands and legs. They are from German origin, likely made in the early mid 1900s. They have solid structure and display very well, but they also show age

His face is pressed felt face with button eyes and delicate painted features

His imperfections and age wear only give him an added layer of charm and personality
