Point Picquet - PoPi06 autumnRugged coastline and swirling seas with a mix of colour. Point Picquet is near Meelup Beach and was named after an explorer Sub Lieutenant Picquet. The ocean here is a stunning and clear turquoise blue and is enough to entice most people for a swim. This location is also a lookout point for migrating whales that pass by in close range to the shoreline. There is an array of orange coloured rock here which contrasts beautifully against the white sandy

Some will be growing on tree trunks and fallen logs while others will be growing on the forest floor in sheltered and damp spots

The Area where the falls are located is owned by the Wadandi people and when visiting we are asked to be respectful of this land as it is of significant importance to the Wadandi culture

Ironstone Gully Falls are situated between Capel and Donnybrook in our state's southwest
